Bernhard Rinner is a Full Professor at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt where he is heading the Pervasive Computing group. He is deputy head of the Institute of Networked and Embedded Systems and served as vice dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences from 2008-2011. He received both his PhD and MSc in Telematics from Graz University of Technology in 1996 and 1993, respectively.  Before joining Klagenfurt he was with Graz University of Technology and held research positions at the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin in 1995 and 1998/99.  His current research interests include embedded computing, embedded video and computer vision, sensor networks and pervasive computing.  He has authored and co-authored more than 100 papers for journals, conferences and workshops, has led many research projects and has served as reviewer, program committee member, program chair and editor-in-chief. Prof. Rinner has been co-founder and general chair of the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras and has served as chief editor of a special issue on this topic in The Proceedings of the IEEE.  He is member of the IEEE, IFIP and TIV (Telematik Ingenieurverband).

Thomas Winkler - PostDoc Researcher

e-mail: thomas.winkler@aau.at

Thomas Winkler was born in 1980 in Graz, Austria. He studied Telematics at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) and in 2005 he earned his Dipl. Ing. (MSc) with distinction. He did his thesis in the field of middleware systems for embedded video surveillance cameras at the Institute for Technical Informatics (ITI). In fall 2005 he joined the Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIK) at TU Graz as a researcher in the EU FP6 project "Open Trusted Computing" (OpenTC). He worked on Java security solutions and was the initial designer and developer of both the jTSS Wrapper and the pure-Java jTSS. He is a member of the JSR321 expert group and the TCG embedded systems work group. In May 2007 he joined the Institute of Networked and Embedded Systems (NES) at Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt. His research interests are focused on pervasive smart camera systems and include system architectures as well as operating system and middleware aspects. Security and privacy in visual sensor networks have become centrals topic of his work. In July 2011 he completed his PhD studies with distinction. As part of his research he developed a TPM-enabled embedded camera system called TrustCAM. Security and privacy protection are inherent features of the system. Since August 2012 he works as senior research in the TrustEYE project which is supported by FWF and KWF.

Ádám Erdélyi - PhD Student

Ádám Erdélyi was born in 1986 in Hungary. He started his studies at the University of Szeged (Hungary) in 2005 and went to Coventry (UK) as an ERASMUS exchange student in 2008 where he received his "MSc in Computing" degree at the end of 2009. After his return to Szeged he finished his studies in January 2012 and got his "MSc in Technical Informatics" diploma. From September 2011 he started his doctoral studies at the University of Szeged in the field of Fluctuation Enhanced Sensing. He visited the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz (Austria) as an exchange student twice (2010, 2012) and he teaches regularly since 2007. His main fields of interest are WSNs, WSN Security, Embedded Systems, IP-based Networks, Network Security, Image Processing and Robotics. He is a PhD student at the Alpen-Adria Universität Klagenfurt and works on the TrustEYE project since November 2012.

Tibor Barát - Erasmus Internship Student

Tibor Barát received his Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences from University of Szeged in 2011 and currently he is a Master student. In his Bachelor thesis he developed a driver between Gsm module and a sensor node. In his master thesis he is researching autonomy of data processing in IaaS clouds which are cooperating with public data clouds. In 2013 he was an exchange student in Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TuE) for five months. Besides studies, he worked as a researcher in the EU-funded project "WSN sensor networks”. His research interests include GSM board integration, ARM based microcontrollers, cloud computing, image processing. As of February 2014 he is working as a student researcher for the Pervasive Computing Group in the TrustEYE project and is funded by the Erasmus program.
